Exploring a fascinating and disused canal, we follow the tow path down towards a superb wetland nature reserve and the Meon Marsh sea lock towards the sea edge and a scenic clifftop path. We follow this part of the Solent Way along an unspoilt stretch of Hampshire's coast. Here there is a local tea room or the legendary Osborne View claiming beautiful views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. We may take a pit stop for a home made batch of mince pies or pop into the pub for a Christmas brandy. Pub or packed lunches/snacks optional here or after the walk. After festive refreshments we will follow the path back inland through farmland. Further pub stops available in Titchfirld to help us get in the Christmas spirit! Christmas jumpers and accessories welcome.
: Bridge Street CarPark by the Canal Tow Path, PO14 4EA
: From M27 Junction 9 follow signs for the A27. You will quickly reach a large roundabout. Take the turning for the A27 East, towards Fareham. Go straight ahead at the first roundabout. You will pass a set of traffic lights - get in the right hand lane and follow the right hand turn in a loop around. The second turning off this loop is to Titchfield Village - take this and follow this road which turns left through the village centre (High Street). Continue along High Street until you reach a mini roundabout. Take a left hand turn into Bridge Street. Directly after you cross the canal you will see a turning to the right, off which is a small car park.
