Orienteering is all about navigation. However, there's no need to be an experienced map reader - this event is ideal for beginners and will also be a fun social activity! Hosted by Southampton Orienteering Club, the aim is to find your way around a small piece of woodland, seeking as many electronic checkpoints as you can within an hour. Just wear normal walking gear, and no need to bring lunch. I'll be there to explain what to do and then you can split into small groups and try it out. Cost is £5 per map, and usually you have one map per group. For families with children it's just £2 per map. If you email me in advance I'll know to expect you, but otherwise just turn up on the day.
