Due to COVID-19, we all need to take extra steps to stay safe. Please follow all safety advice given by the walk leader,
including the latest guidelines on physical distancing. For more information about COVID-19 and Ramblers group walks, please
see our guidance for walkers on the coronavirus pages of the Ramblers website here.
In order to minimise the risk as far as possible we have have also published guidance for members here.
Do not attend if you have any symptoms of Corona Virus.
If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place. Please do not turn up
for a walk without booking, as we will have to turn you away.
For your safety, we request that you avoid car sharing, and it is recommended that you bring hand sanitizer to reduce the
risk of infection after touching gates/stiles etc.
Given all the water about, join us for a leisurely circular walk mostly on gravel but with some slippy (not sinking) mud. We’ll be following some of this historic Mill Trail: http://www.hants.gov.uk/rh/walking/mill-trail.pdf and there are a couple of pubs if we need a stop. As it’s a later start and short walk, would be good to keep moving and not stop for lunch (although there is a pub halfway - Watership Down Inn - where we may be able to eat on the sly). For those wanting to stay on in Whitchurch there is a light show and makers market at the Silk Mill that day (£7 annual ticket) and cafe (free to use without ticket): https://whitchurchsilkmill.org.uk/event/winter-lights/ .
There is a train from Basingstoke that gets in at 11:51 and from Andover it gets in at 11:54.
Whitchurch station car park is free on Sundays and there’s space for lots of cars.
