In 1066 Duke of Normandy, William 'the Bastard' landed on the English Southcoast seeking to claim the English throne. He ravaged the land to draw King Harold into battle quickly, whilst he was still spent from defeating his brother at Stamford Bridge near York; it worked. After hearing of Harold's march south, William gathered his forces at Pevensey before marching to meet him at what would become the town of Battle. We follow his footsteps through ancient villages, rolling hills and woodland along the 1066 country walk. This event requires booking so I know who is coming and is part of the 1066 Bank Holiday weekend trip. If your not on the trip you can still join us. I just need to know.
