We will be starting along the Knowle Walking Trail also know as the Deviation Line which was a railway line opened in 1904 and closed in 1973. We will follow this route for 2 miles and under the M27 where it meets the new modern railway line. Skirting around Knowle village through fields and woods to Mayles Lane and from here directly into Wickham square. We will stop here for half an hour or so for toilets and to grab a tea or coffee from the numerous cafes. We will then head over to the Wickham Water Meadows close by for lunch. The return route will see us leaving Wickham from the south east crossing the A32 and heading south back towards Fareham. We will cut back across the A32, through the Dean Farm Estate and passing through fields running parallel to the Deviation Line. We then backtrack under the M27 to the car park and starting point. We can head for a drink after at the Heathfield Arms which is a 3-minute drive. Please bring a packed lunch, car park is FOC
