It's said that Exmoor is a wave-like series of steep hogsbacks and valleys that rolls inexorably to the sea. It's also said that when Coleridge was writing Kubla Khan the person from Porlock appeared and nothing was done for the rest of the day. Thankfully for us, the point of this trip isn't writing poetry, it's doing some walking. We'll stay in a small B&B near Porlock for the Friday and Saturday night, allowing us to get walking early after a good breakfast. Two walks are planned as follows for the Saturday and Sunday: Walk 1 - Coleridge and Robber's Bridge - 11.5 miles, 3537ft total ascent. Walk 2 - Porlock Stones - 9.7miles, 2500ft total ascent The booking limit on this trip is extremely low because of the limited accomodation. Three rooms are available, two doubles and a twin. The if you want to bring a partner let me know and I'll adjust the available spaces accordingly. The accomodation is approximately £200 per room for the trip. I expect we'll have a meal out on the Saturday night. Given that this trip is in mid September, we do not expect any COVID restrictions to be in place. If there are restrictions in place we'll adjust the plan accordingly.
