The Monarch’s Way is a 625-mile long-distance footpath that approximates the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after being defeated in the Battle of Worcester. We’re doing the Hampshire section of this in 4 parts, crossing the county from West to East. The first section runs from Salisbury to Mottisfont, via Pitton, Broughton and Horsebridge. This walk is timed to coincide with the 9:20 train arrival from Basingstoke and the 9:23 bus replacement arrival from Southampton. Note that we finish at Mottisfont & Dunbridge, which is also operating a bus replacement service on this date.
