A first in hopefully a series of short trips away, that require no holiday (unless you're a weekend worker, sorry!) , and allow us to take in areas that are perhaps too close to warrant a longer trip away, but too far to do a walk in one day.
This time we will be visiting the area of natural beauty 'The Mendip Hills'. We will stay two nights completing the following walks, which are not too long but will involve some elavation:
Saturday: Cheddar Gorge - 12 miles with some nice climbs and stunning views.
Sunday: Wells and Wookey Hole - 9 1/2 miles, starting and finishing at Wells cathedral taking in some of the best scenery of the Mendips and passing by the famous Wookey hole.
I will be looking into accommodation early January or when I have enough people booked on.
We are staying in camping pods (£40 each for the two nights) in campsite right near Cheddar Gorge.
