Burley is a popular Forest village with an intriguing folklore and history. There are several gift shops in the village that have a magic and folklore theme.
The walk starts at the main car park (with public toilets) in the village centre before setting out on a circular walk around the edge of the village. There is a gentle uphill climb along Castle Hill Lane where there are good views across the Avon Valley. The route passes an ancient hill fort on Castle Hill before descending back to the village and along the edge of the open forest.
Feel free to bring snacks/packed lunch but there will be a visit to the Queens Head pub once the walk is finished for those that want to have lunch there. There are also plenty of other pubs, restaurants / tea rooms and cafes in Burley should anyone wish to go somewhere else.
